Indonesia releases special postage stamp on Ramayana


According to a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Indonesia, this stamp has been designed by Indonesian renowned sculptor Bukkum Nyoman Nuarta. Ramayana's incident is on the postal stamp, in which Jatayu is seen bravely fighting to save Sita.

India's Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat and Indonesia's Deputy Foreign Minister Abdurrahman Mohammad Fakir participated in the event of completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations of Indo-Indonesia.

This program was jointly organized by both the countries. On this occasion, these limited-edition special memorials were distributed to the people present in the postal stamp program.

During the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Indonesia in 2018, it was decided that both the countries would celebrate their diplomatic relations with 70 years of full.

In this program, a special picture was shown from 1949 to 2019, showing some special moments of Indo-Indonesia relations.

Ramayana has a deep impression on Indonesia with 90 percent Muslim population. Ramakath is an integral part of Indonesia's cultural heritage. Ramayana is called Ramayana Kavin (poetry). Ramayana's characters are also used for teaching in schools there.
