The Government of India celebrates Statistics Day to popularize the use of statistics in everyday life and warns the public about how statistics helps shape and formulate policies.
This day on 29th June, Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis is celebrated on the birth anniversary. The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MoSPI) announced that it would recognize and honor the work of the official statisticians working in the government, state governments and their institutions, including P.C. in Statistics. Mahalanobis will present the National Award.
