Background
The government last year allowed women to go to Hajj without 'Meheram' or male partner. After this permission, about 1,300 women went on the Haj tour alone. They were also exempted from the 'lottery system'. Saudi Arabia had increased the Haj quote by five thousand in 2018. At the same time Saudi Arabia had increased by 35,000 in 2017. After the judgment of the Supreme Court in 2012, the Haj subsidy granted by the government last year was removed.
