M.P. Government approves 5 years jail term on violence in the name of Gorkha

The Madhya Pradesh government has recently approved amendment in the Prevention of Animal Husbandry Act, 2004 for the prevention of violence in the name of cow. According to the report, under the Go Violence Prevention Act, if a person is arrested in the case of violence, then there is a provision of punishment for six months to three years. At the same time, he will be fined between Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000.

Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department Minister Lakhan Singh Yadav said that the proposal for amendment in the Act is ready. It is now preparing to be kept in the monsoon session's cabinet. This session starts from July 8. According to the new proposal, if the Gorkhara violence occurs in the name of Goraksha and the crowd is included in it then the punishment will be big in such cases. In addition, those who commit such crimes again and again will be punished twice.
