India will get temporary membership in UN Security Council

55 countries of the Asia-Pacific group have supported the provision of temporary membership to India in the UN Security Council. These memberships will be for the year 2021-22 i.e. for two years. This information has been tweeted by India's permanent representative Syed Akbaruddin in the United Nations. These countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China and Pakistan.

The five members who have remained in the Security Council include China, France, Russia, Britain and America. This is not the first time that India will become a temporary member of the Security Council. Even before that he has been involved in this category seven times.
