"Saturn's Moon is on Methane's Small and Deep Lakes"! |
According to NASA, according to American Space Agency, Saturn's largest moon Titan has more than 100 meters deep and small lakes on methane. This information has been received by scientists with the help of NASA's data collected with the Cassini spacecraft.
This discovery has been published in science journal Nature Astronomy. Titan is the only other celestial body in our solar system with the confirmation of the receipt of liquid on the surface. Titan also runs a hydraulic cycle like the Earth.
However, the difference is that the cycle runs on the earth with water, in which the water evaporates from the ocean, the clouds are formed and then it rains. This cycle on Titan is completed with methane and ethane.
On Earth, hydrocarbons such as methane and ethane are generally considered to be gas. It is possible to convert them into liquid only after filling in a tank with high pressure.
The temperature on Titan is so low that hydrocarbons such as methane and ethane remain in liquid form. From earlier data, it was known that methane is full of Titan's large northern seas, but most of the methane in the small lakes is shocking.
Methane and ethane in the lake are almost equal in quantity. Ethane is a bit heavier than methane. Before that, Cassini had studied the large lake Ontario Lakes, located in the Southern Hemisphere of Titan. With the discovery, the secret of Titan goes deeper. However new data will help us find answers to many questions.
