RBI releases new notes of Rs 200 and Rs 500


The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will issue new notes of 200 rupees and 500 rupees in Mahatma Gandhi's (new) series. These new notes will be the signature of the governor of the RBI, Shastikanta Das. Their design will be similar to the earlier issued notes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) series.

The central bank has also made it clear that all the existing notes of 200 rupees issued and 500 rupees of Mahatma Gandhi (new) series will remain valid. Earlier, the Reserve Bank had issued notes of Rs. 100 with a new change soon.
