"Missile Fearless" successfully tested from the test site located in Chandipur, Odisha on April 15, 2019 "!

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully conducted a successful test from the test site located in Chandipur Odisha on April 15, 2019, for the long-range sub-sonic cruise Missile 'Nirbhay' that has been developed in the country. This sixth development was a flight test for the purpose of testing and re-testing Boost Phase, Cruise phase using Way-Point Navigation at very low altitude.

The reason for developing this missile in the country by Defense Research Organization of India is the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) agreement, under which no other country can share the technology till such a long distance

  • The fearless missile can carry an atomic warhead with up to 300 kg.
  • Nirbhaya is two gravel, six meters long and 0.52 meter wide missile.
  • This missile can fly from 0.6 to 0.7 mph.
  • Its launch weight is 1500 kg, which can kill 1000 km.
  • In this, the solid rocket motor booster developed by Advance System Laboratory has been used to give fuel to the missile.
  • This missile capability is equivalent to the US famous Tomahawk missile. The accuracy of this missile is considered very high.
