Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar announced on April 13, 2019, to pay Rs 1 crore to the families of CRPF jawans who were killed in the Pulwama terror attack in February.
Lata Mangeshkar will give this amount through the 'Veer of India' app and the Mangeshkar family and friend will provide financial help of Rs 11 lakh separately.
Many Bollywood stars had helped the martyrs' families before Lata Mangeshkar. Prior to this, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 5 crore to the relatives of the martyrs. Amitabh Bachchan also promised to give Rs 5 lakh lakh to the martyr's family.
