In the first phase, all the Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Lakshi Deep, Andaman and Nicobar Deep groups and Telangana are being voted.
A total of eight seats in the western part of Uttar Pradesh with the highest 80 Lok Sabha seats, where voting is being held in the first phase on Karana, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Voting is going on in 8 important constituencies of Uttar Pradesh. These seats include Union Minister General VK Singh (Ghaziabad), Satyapal Singh (Baghpat) and Mahesh Sharma (Gautam Buddhi Nagar) as well as National Lok Dal (RLD) President Ajit Singh and his son Jayant Chaudhary.
Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections will start on May 23, the seat of Nitin Gadkari in Maharashtra, the seat of Union minister Hansraj Ahir in Chandrapur, the seat of Chandrapur, in Bihar, for the first phase of elections for the country's 17th Lok Sabha elections. Voting is going on in four seats. Among them, the Jamui seat of LJP leader Chirag Paswan is also included, while Arunachal Pradesh is also going to vote in the Union Minister Kiren Rijiju's seat.
A total of 1279 candidates are in the fray in 91 seats, out of which 559 are independents, while 89 are female candidates. 37 Lok Sabha constituencies have been declared as sensitive, Lok Sabha elections 2019 will be held in seven phases, counting of votes and election results will be announced on May 23.
