The central government has released a sum of Rs 10,500 crore so far. This information was given by a senior official of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The central government had announced the plan of Rs 75,000 crore before the Lok Sabha elections. Under this, financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 in three installments in a year is to be given to about 12 crore small and marginal farmers of the country.
The Election Commission had given permission to the Agriculture Ministry to issue its first and second installment to the beneficiaries registered with the implementation of Model Code of Conduct on 10th March.
Under this scheme (PM-Kisan), 4.76 crore farmers have been registered before March 10. So far, second installment has been released to first and 2.10 crore farmers to 3.10 crore farmers.
In the first and second installments till date, the total amount has been reached to the tune of Rs 10,500 crore.
According to the data of the Central Ministry of Agriculture, the number of eligible farmers of the country who have not registered themselves for the time being before the election code of conduct, their number is almost seven crore. Currently, the installments of Prime Minister Kisan Mahan Nidhi Yojana are not being deposited in their bank accounts.
