In August last year, former bureaucrat Uday Kumar Verma, who took over as the Secretary General of Ascham, has resigned.

According to sources, Verma resigned from the industry chamber last week and Assocham's deputy general secretary Saurabh Sanyal is currently discharging the duties of the Secretary-General.

Upon contact, Verma told PTI that he had given a green signal to Ascham President BK Goenka in his resignation letter regarding some issues related to the organization. But they did not give any further information.
