Preeti Saran elected to UN’s CESCR

  1. Preeti Saran has been elected to an ‘Asia Pacific’ seat on the UN’s Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) on 6 December 2018.
  2. She was elected to the 18-member committee of experts that monitors the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESR).
  3. She was the former 1982 batch Indian Foreign Service officer.
