  • G. Venkatasubbaiah has been chosen for the Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Bhasha Samman’ for South (2017) on 5 December 2018.
  • The award has been given in recognition of his contribution to the field of classical and medieval literature.
  • The other winners of ‘Bhasha Samman’: Yogendra Nath Sharma was awarded for the North zone, Gagendra Nath Das for the East zone, and Shailaja Bapat for the West zone.
