Cyrus Poonawala received honorary degree from Oxford University

Oxford University recently conferred an honorary degree on Cyrus Poonawalla, the founding president of the Serum Institute of India. This honor has been conferred on him in view of his work and human service done in the field of life saving vaccine. Poonawala was given a Degree Annania Academic Festival

Eight other people including Pakistan singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan were chosen for this honor. This institute was established in the year 1966. Its vaccine is used in more than 170 countries. This honor has been given to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in view of the contribution made in the field of music in Hollywood and Bollywood.
