Amit Shah proposed to increase President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir for 6 months in Lok Sabha


Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha on June 28, 2019 that elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this year. In the Lok Sabha Amit Shah proposed to increase President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir by 6 months. While presenting the proposal, he said that the Assembly is not in existence in Jammu and Kashmir, so that the President's rule should be extended till elections.

Amit Shah presented the second proposal for change in the reservation question in Jammu and Kashmir. Under which now the benefits of reservation will be available to people living on the international border. Previously only people living near the Line of Control used to take advantage of it.

Home Minister Shah said that the date for assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir is yet to be decided. Although the policy of Zero Tolerance against terrorism in Kashmir has been adopted during the Governor's rule and President's rule.

• Home Minister Amit Shah has introduced a Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 in the Lok Sabha.

• He said that people living on the international border in the valley should get reservation. By making amendments to the Act, those living near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir will also get the benefit.

• He said that it will benefit people living in Jammu, Kathua, Samba border areas.

• The Home Minister said that 15 thousand bunkers are being constructed in Kashmir, out of which 4400 bunkers have been prepared.

• Amit Shah said that this is not the first time in Jammu and Kashmir that governor or presidential rule should be imposed here. Many times such a situation has been made that the law has been amended.

Amit Shah has become a special focus on chalking the security system of Jammu and Kashmir since becoming Home Minister. He had recently reviewed the steps taken by the army and police being taken to prevent terrorism in the valley on a two-day tour.
