According to a study conducted by Oxford University, Tripura is one of the northeast states of India, second in the country in terms of child marriage. In which girls from 15 to 19 years are married.
Out of 100 districts of the country, 4 districts of Tripura are included, where the child marriage is very prevalent, the rate of child marriage in Tripura's Dhali district is 24.7 percent, which is the highest in the state.
In adolescence, the number of children born to mothers is 52 percent, in which adolescent girls have given birth to at least one child.
Of these, 5.5 percent girls gave birth to at least 2 children, and more than 2 children in one percent.
According to the National Family Health Survey -4 (2015-16), the average rate of child marriage in the country is 11.9%, in which there has been some increase in data in Himachal Pradesh and Manipur, from the figures of NFHS3 (2005-06) NFHS Figures of -4 (2015-16) in which Uttar Pradesh's figures have improved considerably and in Uttar Pradesh, it has reduced from 29% to just 6.4%, West Bengal has improved, but it is relatively less. This rate has decreased from 25% to 34% in Bengal.
