REIT, norms for funds raised by invites were relaxed

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has relaxed the guidelines of Real Estate Investments Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to broaden the scope of fund raising by such devices.

The board of SEBI, who met on Monday, decided to allow REITs and inventions to raise the capital by issuing loans securities, while in the past approved for lending to an underlying holding company or a special purpose vehicle (SPV) Gave it.

While revising the definition of 'valuer' for both REIT and INVIT, the regulator allowed single-asset REITs on similar lines of invuits. Allow investors to invest in real estate, while InvITs allow investing in infrastructure projects.
