IMD will soon give information on weather forecast at district level

India Meteorological Department (IMD) is working fast on the project to establish weather forecast for all 6,500 blocks in 660 districts of the country till 2020. This will help 9.5 million farmers to get information about weather. At present, the Meteorological Department issues consultation on the district basis

In 530 districts of the country, efforts are being made to set up such units in the Agricultural Science Center under the Rural Agromet Weather Service. Public, private and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) need to work together to expand agricultural activities.
