Amit Pangal and Gaurav Bidhudi nominated for Arjuna Award

Asian Games and Asian Championships gold medalist Amit Pangal and world championship 2017 bronze medalist Gaurav Bidhudi were nominated for the Arjuna Award by the Indian Boxing Federation on 30 March 2019.

Amit won the gold medal in defeating the current Olympic champion Hasanbay Odamatov of Uzbekistan in 49kg of Asian Games in Jakarta.

Amit's name was recommended in the year 2018 for the Arjuna Award. Amit's name was not considered as though he had failed to test the dope in 2012. For this, he also had a one-year ban.

Bidhudi's name has also been re-sent. Bidhury, who recently won silver in the national championship, was the only Indian to win medal in the 2017 World Championship in Hamburg.
