Railway Minister announces ‘Honey Bee’ plan

1. Railway ministry announced that the ‘Honey Bee’ plan will be expanded to other areas of the country.
2. The initiative was started on an experimental basis in Assam in 2017.
3. The aim is to avoid the death of animals particularly elephants on railway tracks.
4. In this plan, a device is used which amplifies the recorded sound of honey bees to keep elephants away from the rail track.
