PK Das to take over as Chairman of CBIC

  1. The government of India appointed Pranab Kumar Das as the Chairman of CBIC from 1 January 2019.
  2. He will take over from current Chairman S Ramesh, who retires on 31 December 2018.
  3. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is the apex indirect tax policy-making body under the Finance Ministry.
  4. The CBIC is headed by the Chairman and consists of six members.
