Manned mission to space

  1. It is proposed to undertake a manned mission to space before the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence.
  2. The manned mission will be accomplished using ISRO’s launch vehicle GSLV MkIII.
  3. The manned mission will launch Indian astronauts from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota into an approximately 400 Km Low Earth Orbit.
  4. The maximum mission planned is of 7 days duration.
