Maharashtra CM launched ‘SMART’ initiative

  • Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has launched a unique initiative called ‘State of Maharashtra’s Agribusiness and Rural Transformation’ (SMART) on 5 December 2018.
  • The aim of the ‘SMART’ initiative is to revamp agricultural value chains, with a special focus on marginal farmers across 1,000 villages.
  • The initiative is assisted by the World Bank.
