Government appoints Sudhir Bhargava as new CIC

  1. The government of India appointed Sudhir Bhargava as Chief Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission (CIC).
  2. The government of India also appointed IFS officer Yashwardhan Kumar Sinha, ex-IRS officer Vanaja N. Sarna, former IAS Neeraj Kumar Gupta, and former law secretary Suresh Chandra as information commissioners.
  3. The CIC was set up under the Right to Information Act.
