Fitch slashes India growth forecast to 7.2%

  • The ‘Global Economic Outlook’ was released by Fitch Ratings on 6 December 2018.
  • The report estimated India’s GDP growth to be 7% and 7.1% in financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21 respectively.
  • It estimated GDP growth for current fiscal to be 7.2%.
  • Indian economy grew 6.7% in 2017-18 fiscal.
  • In September 2018, the rating agency had forecast 2019-20 and 2020-21 GDP growth at 7.3%.
