  1. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been conferred the ‘Skoch Award for National Significance 2018’.
  2. G. Venkatasubbaiah has been chosen for the Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Bhasha Samman’ for South.
  3. Delhi environment minister Imran Hussain received ‘Hero to Animals Award’ by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)-India.
  4. Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric won ‘Ballon d’Or 2018’ in Paris.
  5. Norwegian forward Ada Hegerberg won the ‘Ballon d’Or 2018’ for women’s players.
  6. French footballer Kylian Mbappe won the ‘Kopa Trophy 2018’ at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
  7. Marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya and Colombian long jumper Caterine Ibarguen won the ‘IAAF Athletes of the Year’ awards.
